The Piper Group, part of the same company that has built many of the newer homes in the Dublin area, has proposed building 32 new homes on a 90-acre site at 644 and 643 Bucks Road near the intersection of Bedminster Road that could be served by the same sewer system those Dublin area homes use. This is not a done deal, but the board of supervisors on Wednesday approved a plan to let the process go further.
According to the Intelligencer, "The supervisors' vote was not an approval of the application, but a formal action to allow the developer to begin the lengthy planning and development phase, which would include future public hearings for input from residents and potential neighbors."
That's where YOU come in. If you have concerns, check with the township to see sketches of the Piper Group plans (usually they are filed at the township office) and check with the township to see when and what meetings are planned. Before the process is done, the home plan likely will have to be approved by zoning and planning boards, and then again by the supervisors. Changes can be made.
This is a rapidly congesting area of Bedminster Twp., for good or bad, with more to come when (and if) the Weis Market is built nearby. But it is also where new homes have been built for several years. Existing residents may be concerned about added traffic or the aesthetics of the development and its impact on police, fire and schools.
Look into it, and pay attention. Your home is your most expensive purchase and of course, it's your home. It's your duty and in your best interests to know exactly what's going on.
